While the most accurate way to gauge your ring size is to have it measured at a jeweller, you can also do it yourself. Try one (or both) of the options below:
Option 1
Wrap a string around the finger you intend to wear your new ring on and mark where the loop touches the start.
Lay the string out flat. Use a ruler to measure the length (from the start of the string to where you marked it) in millimetres.
Look up the length in the Ring Size Guide, and presto!
Note: If you're in between millimetres, always round up. And don't fret. I offer complimentary resizing within +/- 3 sizes of your ordered size.
Option 2
Print out my Ring Size Guide.
Pick a ring that fits your finger well, and use the circles in the Ring Size Guide to work out your size. The best match will be the circle that aligns with the inside of your ring.
Note: Stuck between 2 circles? Not to worry. Go with the larger size. Remember, resizing is possible.
Firstly, that's so exciting!
And don't worry, you don't have to be a secret agent to crack the code (aka the ring size). Try these solutions:
Find an accomplice. Ask your significant other's Mum, siblings or friends, if they know (or can help you find out) her/his/their ring size.
Slyly borrow a ring your special someone already has and use my Ring Size Guide to figure out the magic number. Just be sure to pick one that fits your paramour's ring finger.
It's normal to get a bit antsy about ring sizes. After all, there's a lot to consider, like band width, finger shape, knuckle girth, etc. But as daunting as it can be to get a ring that fits, remember, resizing is always an option.
And my advice - go up in size if you're ever unsure. Better a ring that slides on than one that gets stuck halfway.
You want your engagement ring to be a symbol of your eternal love. So it's wise to pick a hard-wearing stone to see you through your happily ever after.
I recommend gems with a hardness rating of 7 and above. These include diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, aquamarines, tourmalines, topazes and amethysts.
Absolutely. And I'm happy to do it for free of charge, too, provided the resizing is within 3 sizes up or down of your original order. Additional charges may apply if you need to go further than 3 sizes.
Please note, you may be responsible to cover shipping costs.
Not very long at all. Simple resizes (i.e. within 3 sizes +/- your original order) will take 1 week, while more complex requests will take 2 weeks.
The carat (ct) refers to the content of gold in your jewellery. The higher the carat, the brighter your treasure and the more durable your piece.
Lower amounts of gold result in hardness based on the alloying metal. But hardness and durability are not the same. Contrary to popular belief, pieces made of 9ct are less resistant and tarnish more quickly.
